So what have I been up to???

I recently purchased a Singer Futura sewing machine - you know the kind that does everything!  I have a goal to sew and resew clothing so that I can make outfits for work and special occasions.  I am excited because I have made two tops, a pair of pants and have embroidered on store bought jackets that needed spicing up.  So what does this mean?  It means that I will be sharing photo's of my sewing projects on this blog as well.  With my new crafting area - I am able to do all projects.  My goal for the weekend.....resew a sweater that I purchased that really didn't fit well, resew the pants I previously made to make the legs less "wide", start on a vest for work, start on my Christmas cards, and make a bib for a friends Lil girl.  Lots to do - but first I had better clean house......I hate to craft when I know that I have housework to do..........
Can I ask a favor?   I am not sure if my posts are going out to my followers automatically anymore....please - will someone let me know if they are getting the automatic notification?
Thanks!!!!

Wow - I can not believe how long it has been since I posted on my blog!!  I forgot what it looked like!!!
A lot has been going on - here are the bullet points:

  • I am a Nationally Registered EMT - I graduated the last week of May.
  • I am very proud of my son, Jacob - he graduated from American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City!  He came home June 2nd!!!
  • I am soon to become a new mom to a wonderful young woman.....my son is getting married on July 20th, 2012 to Brianna.  I am so excited!!
Since both my son and I are done with school the focus has been on wedding preparations.  On my next post I will share with you some of the things that I have made for the wedding.  I was so tickled that Jacob actually asked me to make the invitations - okay I did volunteer first - but he did say yes!  He always teases me about my papercrafting addiction!

Jacob and his bride will be staying with us for a while after the wedding.  They are working on the imigration process so that they can move to British Columbia to continue on with their education and to start their new life together as a married couple.

Here is a photograph of the Engaged couple.........

Okay - not the greatest photo of Jake!!  Here is one of his head shots.......

Make sure to check out my next post!  It is all crafting!!!

Outside my window

I am not sure if i mentioned this on my blog before but I have gone back to school.  I am trying to prove that you CAN teach old dogs new tricks.  I am taking the EMT class being offered by North Memorial Hospital.  It is quite extensive and honestly I have bitten off more than I can chew!  Oh well - I can and will do it!!

Today, as I sit in my recliner studying - I keep looking outside to the beautiful Hoar frost that is all over.  On a day like this, with an overcast sky, it is so neat to see this frost adding a touch of beauty to a dreary day.  I snapped this photograph of a feeder outside my window.

You may not see me posting as much - atleast not projects that I have created.  I really want to focus on my schooling.  I will make projects on an as needed basis and of course I will share them on my blog.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Happy Halloween!!!!

I know that I am too old to Trick or Treat but I am not too old to dress up for Halloween.  The clinic where i work has a lot of children that come by to trick or treat so we try to do something special for them.  We have a costume contest and a work station decorating contest.  This year I went with two other girls - they were Bert and Ernie!  Do you know who I was?

I had so much fun making this costume!!!   During lunch we went to a local nursing home and walked around - it was nice to see the smiles on the residents faces!!

My friends and I won the costume contest too!!!

My Wonderful Scrapfest Weekend!!!

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending Scrapfest at the Mall of America!  My excitement started on Thursday, September 15th!!  My husband and I picked up Teresa Collins and Sesil Chavez Cratin at the airport.  There were a group of Cricut Circle ladies meeting at Bubba Gumps @ the Mall of America and I was going to surprise them by bringing Teresa to the meetup!  They were surprised and we had a great evening!!

On Friday morning I met with Melissa Ulmann from Creative Memories and a couple of other Creative Memories ladies!  (I apologize - I am terrible at remembering names)  Melissa is the wonderful woman that I met at the Creative Memories Gala and she is the one who invited me to become part of the Creative Memories Design Team!

I had signed up for three classes @ Scrapfest.  The first class was with Teresa and we were making the Travel album.

I love Teresa's paper!!!  It is heavy duty cardstock and the colors/designs are amazing!!

The next class i took was the "F" is for Family by 7 Gypsies:

The last class I did was by BoBunny and it was a "The Best Gifts" Mini Christmas Album:

Saturday and Sunday was dedicated to my husband who was so kind and generous.  He came with me to the Mall of America and put up with my love for Paper Crafting!  I can't wait for next year!!

Creative Memories 2011 Showcase

Provocraft had asked if any of the Circle members, with an E2 Expression machine and living in the Minneapolis area,  would be willing to help out at the Creative Memories showcase on 8/20/2011.  I was more than willing to volunteer!!  I went to the Minneapolis Convention center and met up with Lori and Alisa from Provocraft at noon.  We went through what we would be doing and then met up with Jinger (the spokesperson from Provocraft) and went out to lunch.  That evening we trained the Creative Memories consultants on the key features of the new E2 machine.  Provocraft and Creative Memories have teamed up - the consultants will now be able to sell the E2 machine which is specifically bundled for them.  Creative Memories already has four cartridges exclusive to them.  This is a wonderful match up!  Provocraft being the number #1 in paper cutting machines and Creative Memories being number one in the papercrafting industry - with paper, albums, adhesive ect.  It was so much fun being a part of this event!  The consultants were an absolute hoot!  It is very obvious that they all love what they do!!!

Here is a couple of pictures from the day!!!

Jinger is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside!!

Why I have been MIA!!!

On February 16th, 2011 my one and only son left for New York City.  Jacob has great aspirations to be in the theatre.  He is attending American Musical and Dramatic Academy and he is following his dreams.  In the mean time - the day i have been dreading had finally come.  It was very hard for me to say goodbye.  I am so very proud of him and I honestly and very happy for him.  Selfishly - I am also very sad.  Now that he has been gone just over a week - the tears have slowed down and I am able to get back into normalicy.  I love you, Jake, and I miss you as well.  I look forward to seeing you and chatting with you on skype again!!!!

This weekend I have enjoyed doing "nothing."  I have watched movies with my hubby and made several cards.  I am actually caught up in the card department.

Any way - I will be back to posting some of my creations.  I wanted to take some time for a lil personal time.

Thank you to all my friends and my family who are such a good support.

A precious gift recieved on Christmas!!!!

My sons' girlfriend Brianna made me this adorable teddy bear for Christmas.  Besides the fact that it is Cricut Green and it has the Bug on it - I am simply floored that she took the time to make this for me!!  I will treasure it always!!!!

A busy time of year but remember.........

It does not matter how busy we are - we still need to take time to remember to Thank God each and every day.  I thank God for my wonderful family, my friends and my health.  Sometimes we get so bogged down in our every day lives that we forget the simple things.  This weekend we are expecting terrible weather and I have decided that maybe it was Gods way to make me slow down.....thus I am going to whole up in my home, doing the things that I love and being with the people I love.  I pray for continued health and happiness for my family and my friends.
