Some Christmas Cards for special people

So last week my step son called me to ask a favor.  He wanted a special Christmas card for his aunt who is a breast cancer survivor and also wanted one for his Godson.  I was so thrilled - the fact that he felt that my cards were worthy of these special people!  He made my day!!

Here are the two cards that it made!!  I hope you like them and I hope the recipients like them too!!!

DIY Wedding Items

In less than a week we will be celebrating the Marriage of my son, Jacob to his wonderful bride, Brianna!!!

Here are photo's of the items that I made for the wedding.....sometimes I felt like I bit off more than I could chew.......

The Invitation:
       We have two invitations - one for the ceremony and reception and the other a reception only invitation.  I made 100 of each invitation.

I used the Cricut Embossing Kit to create an embossed "S" at the top of each invite.

I love the border punch system that is made by Creative Memories!  I used that punch to make the ribbon border.

This has been a real "labor of love".

Craft Junkie Too Design Team Earth Day project

Hello there!!

It has been quite a while since I have posted on my blog or submitted a project as a member of the Craft Junkie Too Design team.  I almost forgot how to post!!

This month, our leader, Tracy, has asked us to create any project that shows recycling.

I made a shadow box showing my "Men" in my life.  My husband and my son.  The flowers are created using pages from an old telephone book.  We seem to get so many of these books every year and i wanted to make something with them.  The flowers were punched out and then misted with H2O and crunched up.  I like the look that they get when they are all 'unwrapped'.

I can't tell you how much I have missed my crafting time.  Since starting school in January I have not spent any time doing the thing i love - crafting!  The good news is that I will graduate in May!  Woohoo!!!

Celebrating the Retirement of an Awesome Nurse!!!

Tomorrow we are celebrating the retirement of one of my co-workers.  She was a nurse at our clinic for 41 years.  She is amazing!  She was our Nursing Supervisor and really will be missed.  I got pictures of each of the nurses that worked with her and had them write a little message to her.  Then I used my Your Story and put them all into a bound book.....I actually over stuffed the book but i really like the way it turned out.
The front of the book is adorned with flowers cut using the Cricut Expression 2 and the Flower Shoppe cartridge.  Because the book was "stuffed" I purchased a Button and latch and used it to create a closure.
I hope she likes it.............

Craft Junkie Too - Design Team Post - Last Minute Christmas Idea's

Tracy from Craft Junkie Too requested that her design team create some "last minute" gift idea's.  This is not my original idea - I got the idea from Greenbean.  Make sure to check out her blog - she does a lot of amazing things!!!

This is an awesome last minute gift idea.......Sock Cupcakes!!!

Items needed:
1.  One pair of fuzzy socks
2.  Plastic bag
3.  Pom pom (for the cherry on top)
4.  Cupcake holder

I made the cupcake holder using my Cricut Imagine and the Easter 2010 cartridge and the Snow Angel cartridge.  It is cut @ 2.5 inches.  Simply roll the socks and put in the cupcake holder - put a pom pom on the top and place it in the plastic bag!  Takes all of 5 minutes!!!

Craft Junkie Too blog

A special Christmas gift for a very special Mom!

My mom and I were able to spend a wonderful week in NYC visiting my son!  For Christmas I made her an album of all our pictures from the trip.
I hope she likes it!!!

Craft Junkie Too - Kicking Off the Holiday Season

Tracy asked her Craft Junkie Too designers to make something to "Kick off the holiday season."

I bought several of these flat circular ornaments at our local craft store.  I cut out the Snowman from the Creative Memories Tis the Season Cricut cartridge.  This was cut at 2 inches.  The large circle was cut using the Creative Memories Custom Cutting system.  The paper used in the project is from the Creative Memories Holidazzle series!!  So colorful!!!

I hope you like this project - it was fun and easy to make!!  I will be selling these sets at my office's Relay for Life Craft sale!!

Craft Junkie Too Design Team - Thanksgiving theme

We were asked to make a project of our choice having a Thanksgiving theme.  This was super fun!  I am hosting a Thanksgiving meal and I wanted to have napkin rings - what better to do than to make them myself!

I used the Creative Memories Autumn paper pack - the colors in this pack are so perfect!  The Creative Memories Patterned paper cuts so perfectly in the new E2.

I used the Celebrate with a Flourish cartridge to make each napkin ring......

At the clinic where I work we have a large bulletin board that I update monthly with seasonal items.  This month I made the following using my Imagine and the Enjoy the Seasons cartridge.  It is difficult to tell in this photograph but each shape is cut @ 10.5 inches and are layered and decorated with glitter glue.  The kids really like to see the different things on the bulletin board!!

Crafty Halloween Blog Hop!!!!!

I made this little witches hat as a decoration for my office.  It needed a little something to brighten it up!!  I absolutely love the Frightful Halloween Paper Pack by Creative Memories!  It has the most beautiful Shimmery Purple cardstock!!!  I just had to use it for the base of my witches hat!!!

To make the base of the witches hat I used the Jumbo Circle from the Creative Memories Custom Cutting System and cut two large circles.  One I cut a pie shaped wedge out of so that I could roll it together to make the cone shaped top. 

I put a little wired ribbon around the circle.

I then used the Creative Memories Scalloped Circle Maker and punched out 20 circles.  I cut a slit towards the center after every other scallop to make a flower.  Each petal was then curled by rubbing the petal gently on a foam pad using my paper scorer.  Attached a little bling in the center and adhered it to the witches hat

To make the small flowers I used my E2 and cut 30 small flowers from the American Alphabet cartridge that was built into the E2.  I absolutely love how the E2 cuts the designer papers from Creative Memories.  All papers in this project were from the Frightful Halloween Paper Pack by Creative Memories.

Fabulous Fall - Craft Junkie Too Design Team Post

This time the Designers were asked to create something using the changing colors of Fall as our inspiration.  We were not to make a card!!!

I recieved the Autumn Seasons Addition pack from Creative Memories - I absolutely adore the colors.  I had this jar "hanging" around and it just needed a little something to make it special.

This will be a great decorative piece for my desk in my office.....I don't have a window so I need a little color in there!

Back to School Design Team post!!!!

My son, Jacob, is currently attending American Musical Dramatic Academy in New York City!!!  He didn't even take the summer off!  There is not a day that goes by that I don't miss him.  He is having the experience of a life time and I am so very happy for him.

Tracys' assignment this time was "Back to School".... I thought I would make a desk set for a very nice fellow Circle Member.

 I altered a large close pin and a mini clip board.   Her favorite colors were black, white, silver, burgandy and red.    I hope you like this project!!

Craft Junkie Too Design Team submission!!!

This time Tracy has asked us to create something "Bright and Fun".  The best thing about being on Tracy's design team is that she really allows us the freedom to create what we want!!!  The first thing I thought about  was the Cricut - Lifes a Beach cartridge!  I created this frame using cuts from Lifes a Beach.

My "My Pink Stamper's Design Team " audition

Robyn from My Pink Stamper is looking for crafters to become members of her Design Team.  Robyn's blog was one of the first blogs I started to follow when I started paper crafting. She is an inspiration to all her followers.  Please if you do not already follow her site please check it out by going to My Pink Stamper.  I would be honored to be chosen as a member of her design team.

The challenge was to make a card, scrapbook page, or other Cricut project with your favorite Cricut cartridge using the following colors......

Orange Turquoise  Green Brown (other optional color of your choice)   I love to do altered items and I have wanted to make a journal for myself.  This is my project.............. It started as a simple composition book - I always purchase a lot of these when school supplies are put out in August/September.  They are usually around 25 cents each.  

 I took the colors of the challenge and looked for papers and accessories that would fit into the challenge.  
I then used my trusty friend the Gypsy to help me create the cuts for the front of the journal.    

Supplies used:   Composition book Brown Card stock x 2 pages Green Card stock x 1 page Turquoise Card stock x 2 pages Orange Card stock x 1 page White Card stock x 2 pages Gypsy Imagine cartridge:  Imagine More Cards (tea cup cut @ 3 in and the patterned paper in the lettering and flowers) Imagine cartridge:  Blast Off (lettering cut at .5 in) Plantin schoolbook cartridge - to cut the flowers:  4 ea @ 2.4 in and 2.5 in ATG gun Gliter pen in hunter green and crystal (got to have some bling) 2 Crystal brads Grosgrain ribbon   The end result..................................

Horray for the Red, White and Blue!!!!

My submission for Wednesday, June 29th, Craft Junkie Too design team is this handy way to give out flavored bottled water!!!!  This is so simple to make ---- the stamps are from Stamping Up and I used a 1" circle punch for around the bottle.  I hope you like it - let me know!!!!

Since I missed the last Design Team submission - I was on my wonderful vacation!!!  I thought I would show another "July" project.  I have a bulletin board at my office that I "scrapbook" every month.  I have the background quilted pattern permanently affixed to the board.  I change out three pieces to suit the month.

CJ Too's Birthday Bash Blog Hop!!!!

Our topic for today is of course.......Birthdays!!!!

The first item I want to share is a card that I made using my E2 and the built in cartridge Just a Note. The card is cut @ 5.5 in and the accessories are also cut @ 5.5 with relative size on.

The next project is an altered box. The box was purchased at Michaels for $1!!! I painted it blue, added the flowers which were cut using the Imagine and the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge. The paper patterns are from Mystical Garden cartridge. The flowers were given a little bit of sparkle by using Glimmer Mist.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRACY!!!!!

Bridal Shower decorations

I apologize for the poor picture quality - I so wish that i had thought of laying the banner on the floor so that i could take a picture.  The banner is about 10 feet long - composed of 16 individual triangles - four with flowers and the rest spelling out Lyndsae & Eric.  This banner was a lot of fun to make - I hope the young lady i made it for likes it.

The colors of the wedding are teal with a touch of pink and lime green - i used those colors in this banner.  The teal triangle was designed on the gypsy - and saved for future use!!  I love how it turned out!!

This next project is a guest book/memory book made by covering a 5 x 7 notebook.  I again incorporated the colors of the wedding.......

The card is made using the Imagine and the JT cartridge - love the palm tree!!!  This is a tri-fold card that is on the Imagine More Cards cartridge that I changed the colors to the papers from the JT cartridge.  I love how it turned out!!

I am looking forward to celebrating with Lyndsae and Erik as they start their new life together in June.
