Outside my window

I am not sure if i mentioned this on my blog before but I have gone back to school.  I am trying to prove that you CAN teach old dogs new tricks.  I am taking the EMT class being offered by North Memorial Hospital.  It is quite extensive and honestly I have bitten off more than I can chew!  Oh well - I can and will do it!!

Today, as I sit in my recliner studying - I keep looking outside to the beautiful Hoar frost that is all over.  On a day like this, with an overcast sky, it is so neat to see this frost adding a touch of beauty to a dreary day.  I snapped this photograph of a feeder outside my window.

You may not see me posting as much - atleast not projects that I have created.  I really want to focus on my schooling.  I will make projects on an as needed basis and of course I will share them on my blog.

Have a wonderful weekend!

We had a visitor tonight.......

Tonight while my husband was out mowing the lawn he noticed this young lady watching him.  I was able to get a little closer to take a photo or two.  She was watching me for quite sometime before she chose to run away.  I noticed an area in the tall grass/clover that it appears that the deer are bedding down - I hope that she will come back again soon!

My Rose!!

I am so excited!!  This year I planted five rose bushes!  I am NOT a gardener!!!  The only reason I planted the roses was because at the clinic where i work we had a fund raiser and each bush was only $5.00.  I figured it was a good cause - all profits made were put towards the Relay for Life.  Any way - here is my first rose!!  I am so happy!!  I have ONE rose!  So far..........

Look what is outside my window!!!!!!

We hung more bird feeders outside this weekend!!!  It did not take long for the birds to find them.

This little hummingbird was very busy indeed - of course every time i went to take a picture she flew away!!  It was amazing to watch her because she actually "sat" on the perch to drink!!!!

Now I absolutely love watching birds but I must warn you - I don't even have a clue what kinds they are.  Of course I do know robins, blue jays ect - but when it comes to these little one's I just admire their beauty!!!

Thanks again for taking the time to check out my blog ----- my goal this week is to get a lot of projects done and to "actually" take pictures of them to post on my blog.  I have been remiss on photographing projects before I give them away!!!

Tis the Season Blog Hop!!!

Hi Welcome to my Blog!!  I apologize for the delay in getting this post up!!  If you scroll down you will see a list of all the wonderfully talented women who are sharing their blogs with you today!!  I must admit that I am very nervous about this - this is my first time!!

I thought it appropriate that I share with you the weather outside my window at this moment!!  Tis is the Season for a lot of things......in Minnesota tis is the Season for snow.........

The following project was a lot of fun to do.......I wanted to make a NOEL sign to put on my entertainment center for the holidays.  This is what I came up with.......

I started with wooden letters that I painted with acrylic paints.  I traced the letters onto papers from the DCWV from the Christmas Ultimate scrapbook kit stack from a couple of years ago!  There are so many papers in this stack!!!!  I cut out each letter and then applied it to the painted letter using modpodge glue.  I sanded around the edges and inked the edges with the acrylic paints.  Using a glue gun I adhered the little holly berries and the gold holly leaves.  Here are the close ups of each letter.......

The next project is my Christmas card ----- okay one of my Christmas card designs.  I do need to do about three more dozen but time has eluded me so far.

The card was designed on my Gypsy - I absolutely paper crafting with "Rose".  With Rose I am able to design my card and mass produce it!!  With this design I made 24 cards.  The cartridge I used for the snow man is Snow Friends - it is such an adorable card!!  The red paper is from Bazzill and the patterned paper is from the DCWV Christmas stack.  I hope you like it!!!!
